Hi, Arizona Team!
Hope you enjoyed the absolutely stellar State of the Union last night! I just ordered my Dark Brandon tee shirt! I’m feeling pumped.
Anyway, here are a couple of upcoming AZ-related opportunities. It’s time to kick into gear, so I hope you can participate in some or all of them.
At Activate America’s next A Team meeting on March 20th, they will be joined by Cheryl Bruce, Campaign Manager for Arizona for Abortion Access. Cheryl and her team are leading efforts to place an abortion rights initiative on the ballot this November. If you are eager to hear about the state of abortion access in Arizona, messaging guidance around this issue, how it may impact other Arizona races, and what we all can do to support this work, please come! Sign up here.
Activate America also has a brand new postcarding campaign into AZ! Since Kyrsten Sinema is not running for reelection we can now focus on electing the supremely qualified Ruben Gallego over the Republican candidate and MAGA extremist Kari Lake! AA has two options to boost name recognition for Gallego. They are continuing the prescription drug cost campaign and have added a reproductive justice campaign! They also have reproductive justice campaigns available to support Kirsten Engel for the US House in AZ-6 and against the MAGA Congressman Schweikert in AZ-1. Please mail these postcards within 3 weeks of receiving the materials. Sign up here.
Please join Airlift’s Live from the Frontlines program on March 12, “Winning Reproductive Freedom State by State.” Aisha Mills of National Institute for Reproductive Health and its Action Fund will speak about the crucial issue of abortion in 2024’s elections, and what we can do about it. Aisha will be joined by leaders from Airlift Partner Group Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA). An abortion initiative is headed toward Arizona’s ballot in November, and LUCHA will be putting the issue front and center in their massive million-knock organizing and turnout campaign. Register here for “Winning Reproductive Freedom State by State, March 12, 5:00 PT / 8:00 ET. Although this is a fundraiser for LUCHA, you need not make a donation.
Please join Sister District Project on Thursday March 13 at 5:00 PM Pacific / 8:00 PM Eastern for a virtual fundraiser for grassroots organizations in Arizona and Pennsylvania. You will hear from representatives from LUCHA, RAZA - Rural Arizona Action, and two groups from PA. These organizations work throughout the year in their regions to connect with voters on issues of local and national importance. Note that while this is a fundraising event, donations are not required to register or attend. Click this link to sign up.
OK phew that was a lot. Something for everyone, right?
Please forward this list to anyone you know who wants to help us win in Arizona. Thanks!
More soon,
Jess
